Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how TEWAG FOUNDATION (“TEWAG Foundation”, “we”, “our” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies through https://www.tewag.org. The website is owned and administered by TEWAG FOUNDATION and TEWAG GROUP and is created and hosted using Google Sites, a website publishing service provided by Google. Our website uses:
Google Analytics;
YouTube videos;
Google Forms;
Google Maps;
Google Calendar; and
Google Drive documents and other Google Workspace content.
These services may place cookies or use similar technologies when a visitor accesses or interacts with the website. Because the website is hosted through Google Sites and incorporates services operated by Google, some cookies are placed and controlled directly by Google. TEWAG FOUNDATION does not determine every cookie name, purpose or retention period associated with these services. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use.
Cookies are small text files stored on a computer, mobile phone, tablet or other device when a person visits a website. Cookies and similar technologies can help a website or service provider:
recognise a browser or device;
maintain website security;
remember preferences;
support website features;
understand how visitors use a website; and
deliver embedded content and services.
Cookies may be classified as follows:
First-party cookies
These are placed through the website domain being visited. Google Analytics cookies may operate as first-party cookies on our website.
Third-party cookies
These are placed by external service providers whose content or technology is incorporated into the website. Google, YouTube and other embedded service providers may place third-party cookies.
Session cookies
These normally remain active only while the browser is open and expire when the browsing session ends.
Persistent cookies
These remain on the device for a specified period or until they are deleted through the browser or device settings.
Google and other service providers may also use technologies such as:
pixels;
tags;
local browser storage;
device identifiers;
embedded scripts;
server logs; and
web beacons.
References to “cookies” in this Policy include these technologies where applicable.
Cookies and related technologies are used on our website to:
deliver and operate the website;
maintain the security and reliability of website services;
protect forms and services from spam, fraud and automated misuse;
understand how visitors access and navigate the website;
assess the performance of website pages and content;
remember language, display and service preferences;
display videos, maps, calendars, forms and documents;
process registrations, enquiries, applications or survey responses submitted through Google Forms;
identify technical errors and improve the visitor experience; and
support the administration and development of TEWAG FOUNDATION’s digital communications.
These cookies and technologies support the operation, delivery and security of the Google Sites platform and connected Google services. They may be used to:
display website pages;
maintain secure sessions;
distribute network traffic;
prevent fraudulent or automated activity;
protect forms from spam;
authenticate signed-in users;
remember security settings; and
maintain the reliability of Google services.
Some of these cookies are placed automatically by Google and cannot be disabled by TEWAG FOUNDATION. Blocking them through browser settings may prevent certain pages, forms or embedded services from functioning properly.
Functional cookies allow embedded services to operate and remember relevant visitor preferences. They may be used when a visitor interacts with:
YouTube videos;
Google Maps;
Google Forms;
Google Calendar;
Google Drive documents;
Google Docs, Sheets or Slides; or
other embedded Google services.
These cookies may remember settings relating to language, location, video playback, display preferences, signed-in status and previously selected options.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with the website. Google Analytics may collect information such as:
pages visited;
time spent on particular pages;
navigation paths;
approximate geographical location;
browser and device type;
operating system;
referring website;
date and time of access;
interactions with links and website features; and
technical or performance information.
We use this information to:
measure website traffic;
understand which content is most useful;
evaluate public outreach;
identify navigation and accessibility issues;
improve website organisation; and
enhance the performance of our digital content.
Google Analytics generally identifies browsers and sessions using pseudonymous identifiers rather than directly identifying visitors by name.
Our website embeds content provided through Google services. When a visitor views or interacts with embedded content, information may be transmitted directly to Google. This may include:
the website page being viewed;
the visitor’s internet protocol address;
browser and device information;
signed-in Google Account status;
interactions with the embedded service;
location-related information where applicable; and
cookies already stored by Google on the visitor’s browser.
The information collected by Google is processed according to Google’s own privacy, cookie and service policies.
TEWAG FOUNDATION does not control the advertising or personalisation technologies that Google may apply within Google services. YouTube videos and other Google content may display advertisements or personalised features depending on:
the visitor’s Google Account;
Google privacy and advertising settings;
browser preferences;
location;
the particular content being viewed; and
Google’s own service configuration.
Where advertising or personalisation cookies are used by Google, they are controlled by Google rather than TEWAG FOUNDATION. TEWAG FOUNDATION will update this Policy if it separately introduces advertising pixels, remarketing tags or campaign-targeting technologies.
The table attached at the end of this document describes the principal cookies and Google services currently associated with the website.
Google Analytics has been enabled on our Google Sites website using a Google Analytics measurement identifier. Google Analytics uses the _ga cookie to distinguish visitors and the _ga_<measurement-id> cookie to maintain session information. Google states that their default expiration period is two years, although browser restrictions, consent choices or Analytics configuration may shorten this period. Analytics data may be processed by Google on our behalf and used by TEWAG Foundation in aggregated reports relating to website activity and performance. We do not intend to use Google Analytics to collect information such as names, personal email addresses, telephone numbers or other details directly identifying a visitor.
Visitors may restrict Google Analytics by:
rejecting analytics cookies where a consent option is displayed;
blocking or deleting cookies through browser settings; or
using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Our website contains videos embedded from YouTube.
When a visitor loads or plays a YouTube video, YouTube may receive information about the visitor’s browser, device, internet protocol address, the page being viewed and interactions with the video.
YouTube may also use cookies to:
provide video playback;
remember playback preferences;
measure video engagement;
detect fraud or misuse;
recommend content;
personalise the YouTube experience; and
display or measure advertising.
The cookies used may differ depending on whether the visitor:
is signed into a Google Account;
has enabled or disabled personalised advertising;
has previously used YouTube or other Google services; or
has selected particular Google privacy preferences.
Where technically practicable, TEWAG FOUNDATION may use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding options to reduce the use of viewing activity for personalisation.
We use Google Forms for purposes that may include:
enquiries;
programme registrations;
volunteer registrations;
surveys;
feedback;
event registrations;
applications; and
collection of information relating to Foundation activities.
Google may use cookies to display and secure a form, maintain a session, prevent automated misuse and support signed-in Google Account functions. Information deliberately submitted through a Google Form is not collected merely through cookies. It is personal information provided by the person completing the form and will be handled according to our Privacy Policy and any notice provided with the relevant form. Visitors should avoid submitting sensitive or unnecessary personal information unless it is specifically requested and relevant to the purpose of the form.
Google Maps may be embedded to display office, project, programme or event locations. When a visitor interacts with an embedded map, Google may process:
internet protocol address;
browser and device information;
map interactions;
search or direction requests;
approximate or precise location, where permission has been provided; and
Google Account information where the visitor is signed in.
Location permissions can ordinarily be managed through the visitor’s browser, device and Google Account settings.
Google Calendar may be embedded to display events, programmes, meetings or other scheduled activities. Google may use cookies and account information to:
display calendar content;
maintain sessions;
remember preferences;
enable interaction with events; and
allow signed-in visitors to add events to their own calendars.
The availability of particular features may depend on whether the visitor is signed into a Google Account.
Our website may display files hosted through Google Drive or Google Workspace, including:
documents;
spreadsheets;
presentations;
PDFs;
reports;
images; and
other downloadable or viewable materials.
Google may use cookies to display these materials, maintain secure access, remember preferences and support signed-in functionality. Accessing a restricted file may require a visitor to sign into a Google Account. Any account information processed during sign-in is controlled by Google.
Visitors can manage cookies through their browser or device settings.
Most browsers allow users to:
view cookies stored on their device;
delete existing cookies;
block third-party cookies;
block cookies from particular domains;
prevent websites from storing cookies; or
receive a notification before a cookie is stored.
Restricting cookies may affect:
website analytics;
YouTube video playback;
Google Forms;
embedded maps;
calendars;
documents; and
other Google-hosted services.
Google may also display a cookie notice or privacy control based on the visitor’s location, Google Account status and applicable legal requirements.
Visitors can manage certain Google-related preferences through their Google Account and Google privacy tools. These controls may include:
My Activity;
My Ad Center;
advertising personalisation;
YouTube history;
Web and App Activity;
location settings;
browser cookie settings; and
Google Analytics opt-out controls.
These settings are operated independently by Google. TEWAG FOUNDATION cannot modify a visitor’s Google Account or browser settings.
Cookie information may constitute personal data where it identifies, relates to or can reasonably be associated with an individual or device. Where information collected through cookies is processed by or on behalf of TEWAG FOUNDATION, it will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law. The use of Google services may also involve the transfer and processing of information through infrastructure operated by Google in India or other jurisdictions, subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.
TEWAG FOUNDATION does not use cookies with the intention of creating behavioural advertising profiles of children. However, Google-hosted services and YouTube embeds may process technical data according to Google’s policies and the visitor’s account settings. Where a form or programme is intended for children, we may provide additional privacy information and seek the involvement or consent of a parent or lawful guardian where required.
Google Analytics cookies may remain active for up to two years under Google’s default settings. Other cookies may remain active:
until the browser session ends;
for a period determined by Google;
until the visitor deletes them;
until the visitor changes their Google or browser settings; or
until Google replaces or withdraws the relevant technology.
TEWAG FOUNDATION does not independently determine the retention periods of cookies placed directly by Google.
Our website may contain links to websites and services not operated by TEWAG FOUNDATION or Google. When a visitor follows an external link, the relevant website may use its own cookies and tracking technologies. TEWAG FOUNDATION is not responsible for the cookie practices, security, availability or content of external websites. Visitors should review the privacy and cookie policies of those websites before using them or submitting personal information.
We may update this Cookie Policy when:
Google changes Google Sites or its associated services;
the configuration of Google Analytics changes;
new content or services are embedded;
an existing integration is removed;
our website or data practices change; or
legal or regulatory requirements are revised.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
